Meet Beatrice, a timid but gentle girl who is searching for a patient, loving person to help her build confidence and find her true self.
When she first arrived in our care, she was fearful. Despite her nervousness, Beatrice took treats very gently and allowed slow, calming pets.
As time passes, she had begun to gain the courage to explore a bit, sniffing around and finding hidden treats, with her tail slowly coming out of its tucked position. Beatrice is still learning how to walk on a leash and may need some extra guidance and patience in that area.
With time, love, and gentle encouragement, Beatrice will blossom into the wonderful dog she's meant to be. If you're looking for a sweet soul to help grow in confidence, Beatrice is ready to meet you!

10/13/24 Per Day Trip: We had a lovely outing with Beatrice today. She was so sweet and snuggly. She was a bit timid but very gentle. She walked in the grass and even ran a little. She mostly just loved sitting in our laps! She has lots of love to give!

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 17,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.
In addition to animal control and sheltering, ACCT Philly is open 365 days a year for pet adoptions.
