This helps Born Again Rescue and Shelter (B.A.R.K) with pet care costs.
Sherman entered our rescue back in July after he had been hit by a vehicle and left to die. We were contacted by the local Sheriffs office about him, and immediately got him to our vet. He was pretty immobile, and had suffered some serious injuries. After spending a week at the vet, not sure if he was ever going to be able to move again, he started making progress, so he came home with us.
After several months of rehab and excercise, Mr. Sherman went from needing to be carried outside to go potty, to wearing a diaper, and eventuially standing and walking on his own. He has gone through so much for such a young pup, but his desire to live and eagerness to be part of a family and be loved has never stopped. He has put on weight, runs and plays with the other dogs, and is really good at going outisde to go potty.
Sherman will most liekly always be a special needs dog, as we think he suffered some permanent neurological damage during the accident. He still limps a little on his right side, and doesn't always appear to see or hear perfectly from his right side either, but it doesn't stop him from having fun and wanting to play.
Sherman is very active, and would do great in a home with a big fenced yard for him to run and play in. He gets along great with other animals, including cats, and is very friendly with the neighborhood kids
