My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Meet Belle!**

This sweet girl is an owner surrender and may be a Basselier (Basset Hound and King Charles Spaniel mix) expected to grow to 40-45 lbs.

Belle has already been spayed and vaccinated, so she's ready for her new home! She loves the dog park and is becoming more social with each visit. House-trained and accident-free in her foster home, she walks well on a leash-preferring a harness for those local park strolls.

Belle enjoys playing fetch, though she sometimes gets a bit excited when greeting people. With a little guidance, she settles down quickly! She'll sit or speak for treats and is learning gentle play.

More about this rescue

Hound Rescue is always in need of foster homes. We do not have a shelter so our ability to rescue is limited only by the number of families willing to take in a beagle in need. If interested go to http://houndrescue.com and click on "How to Foster."

Hound Rescue started in Austin, Texas in 1998. We are a small group of individuals who foster dogs in our homes. Hound Rescue also provides placement assistance to both shelters and others who need to find homes for hounds who for whatever reason have become stray.

Most of our animals come from high-kill facilities where they were scheduled to be euthanized. Because of the huge numbers of unwanted dogs, Hound Rescue Texas can only take owner surrenders on a limited basis as space permits in our foster home network.
