Mid may my neighbors heard the most horrific desperate meowing while letting their cats out onto the balcony. They went to check it out, only to find a 5 week old utterly emaciated, tick ridden, flea ridden kitten. Took him in, washed him, took the ticks out, got most of the fleas off with dishwasher soap and then took him to the vet where it seemed like he was okay other than the ticks and fleas, got food and water. Since they couldn't adopt one more cat due to apartment policy, I accepted the responsibility. Unfortunately as my situation has changed, pet-keeping is out of the question going forward in November. Turned out to be a very playful and annoyingly smart cat!
