Makaio is a sweetheart that I got at 18 months old from a shelter in the UP. He was completely untrained and didn't know how to even function in a house at the time.
After lots of patience and work, he walks well on a leash, is a great running and biking buddy, and is crate trained as well.
He does require someone experienced that is used to dealing with the energy requirements of huskies/malamutes. He's done well with kiddos as long as he has an area to retreat to as needed and he's done well with our cat and the strays that hang around as well.
He has been reactive with other dogs previously, but has never attacked outright.
He's always been on leash with me since my yard isn't fenced in and is very food motivated with training.
