Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐶 🐕 MARGIE Female 2 years, 44 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶
MARGIE is a quiet, mature soul at only 2-years-old. She connects quickly to people, and her human is her emotional anchor. This 44-pound cuddlebug loves to be next to you, crawling in your lap, and flipping upside down for the occasional belly rub. Get up though and she is right with you, following along to see what you are up to. She is a lower energy border collie, content to curl up in her bed nearby while her foster mom works.
MARGIE is food-motivated but is not yet interested in toys. At mealtime, this mellow girl comes to life; bouncy and bright-eyed, she races to her dinner spot. Given her attentiveness to people, she is proving to be a quick-learner, and we have started work on basic training. MARGIE already walks nicely on a leash and has enjoyed strolls around the neighborhood.
After one accident in the house the first day in her foster home, MARGIE settled into a routine with no further issues. She has also learned to use the doggy door. She rides well in a crate in the car, settling down without fussing. She sleeps quietly in an X-pen or crate at night, when she is in the room with her people. Given the option of sleeping in a bed in soft crate or on the floor, she has opted instead to sleep on top of the crate, creating a hammock-like bed for herself.
MARGIE is not particularly interested in playing or interacting with canine companions. She ignores an older female in her foster home but has been a bit bossy with a younger male. Being an only dog would suit her just fine.
Despite coming from a potentially neglectful situation and losing her owner, this pretty girl has retained her trust and love of people. MARGIE would thrive in a home where she can be with her people much of the time.
MARGIE is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about MARGIE, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org.
MARGIE is being fostered in Shingle Springs in El Dorado County, CA.
