Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Have you ever heard of a "spirit cat"? Opossum is a special girl, she's not your average domesticated cat, she's a spirit cat.
Spirit cats, like Opossum, are nervous of engaging with humans and prefer to keep their distance, but they can still make good pets because they can make amazing friends for resident felines! Opossum doesn't particularly enjoy humans intruding on her space, but she LOVES other cats. They're her favorite thing about life.
We think that if Opossum lived in a home with a friendly cat, she could be quite happy, as long as it was a calm home with a patient owner who wouldn't push her beyond her comfort zone. Friendship would be a welcomed bonus but shouldn't be expected as Opossum is 6 years old and her personality may/may not change in time after she gets to know someone and gets accustomed to a new living space. Opossum would not want to live with a dog. She needs an adult-only home.
If you're interested in exploring the idea of adopting our precious little spirit cat Opossum, call the shelter at (603) 472-3647 and press 1 for adoptions to schedule an appointment to meet her!
