Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*I am a sweet shy guy and do much better with a dog friend around, so I need to go home with a doggy friend*
Meet Rolly, a shy yet sweet young boy looking for a new home. He was found as a stray so we don't have much history, but we know he loves dogs and would do well in a home with another dog. His foster says that Rolly "loves neck scratches and will curl up next to me on the couch and flop around." What a silly guy! His foster describes him as sweet, gentle, curious, and resilient - he may be nervous and shy to start, but with time and space he's really blossoming! "Rolly is a silly noodle of a dog. He has a long floppy tail that really gets going when he's happy or playing. If you give him neck scritches he'll give you the weight of his whole long head and close his eyes and just relax into you." He is a mellow guy content with a couple lazy walks each day to explore and then a chance to stretch and nap. He is also completely house trained!
We're not sure how he would do with kids, so he would like to meet them before going home with them. Cats are also an unknown, so you would want to do slow introductions. Rolly is looking for a quiet home where he can have time to settle in and get to know his new people before he meets any new ones. If you have room in your home and heart for a gentle spirit, Rolly is ready to meet you.
If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways:
Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt.
**the below two methods are slower than visiting us**
Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours.
All adult dog adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies and kennel cough vaccinations
- heartworm test
-current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-microchip implanted & registered to adopter
-treatment of fleas & ticks
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
