Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poor Sammi. He just wants to get out of here and go back to a good home. Sadly, 10 year old Sammi can't go back. His owner passed away recently and Sammi is definitely missing his old life. He's such a sweet cat but he's scared and confused about why he's here. Sammi is a big boy that's lived all his life in a quiet home. He lived with other cats too, and he's fine with them. He loves people, but he'll need a commotion-free home with no young kids, simply because he's not used to lots of activity. Sammi is a gentle, mellow kind of guy that would be so content to take a snooze on the couch next to you, or gaze out the window at the world going by. We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
