We’ve had quite the run of Australian Shepherds lately, and here’s another adorable one for you! Peanut is a "mini" Australian Shepherd, weighing in at just 17lbs—she’s tiny! At around 8 years old, based on her teeth, she’s a bit of a seasoned lady, but she’s full of sweetness. Peanut came to us as a stray, so we don’t know her past, but she’s been nothing but friendly and happy with the staff. She did well in her dog/dog assessment and gets along with other pups. She does seem a bit nervous, but that just means she’ll be the first one to jump right into your lap for some love! ❤️ She’s had some skin issues, likely from flea allergies, and has thinner hair on her back, but with the right care, we’re hopeful she’ll bounce back to her best self. Peanut is looking for a loving home where she can feel safe, secure, and spoiled. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.
