**Veronika is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**
Age: 1 year Weight: 35 kg
A bit about me: - unknown history with children; all interactions should be supervised - unknown history with cats; multiple, slow, supervised intros recommended - unknown history with dogs; okay pending successful introduction - can be nervous and slow to warm up to new people
Sweet Veronika is here to say hi! Found as a stray along the highway, this lady was terrified on arrival and wedged herself under the dog bed in her kennel. Our staff knew there was a sweetie under the fear and with gentle voices and treats, we set out to help her feel safe. With patience, Veronika has built friendships with several of our staff, and once she feels comfortable, Miss Veronika is a very affectionate and cuddly lady who will be sure to come nudge you with her nose for pets. Veronika is still quite young, so she'll enjoy a home where she can get daily exercise and try new games and activities. Veronika is still working on her confidence building - fast movements and loud noises can be a lot - so a home that can build a routine and allow her to gain confidence at her own pace would be ideal. We do not know Veronika's history with other animals or children; to help Veronika feel safe in her new home, all human and furry household members should be able to respect this girl's space. We are offering 3 free post-adoption consults to help Veronika settle into a new home. If you are ready to fall in love with the sweetest girl, come visit today.

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
