Pennie Update! Just a quick note on this sweetheart-she met the kids through her kennel and gave them the gentlest kisses! Her calm and loving nature really shines, and it seems like she could be an amazing fit for a home with kids. Pennie is ready to bring her gentle spirit to a forever family!
Meet Pennie! A shy girl who hasn't experienced much human love, Pennie is on a journey of discovery. Once she steps outside, her true spirit shines. She confidently explores her surroundings, takes care of her business, and has a heart full of affection for every dog she meets! With a little companionship from a kennel mate, we believe Pennie could find the calm and comfort she needs indoors. Help us give her the love and support she deserves!
On 10/22/24 Pennie met 2 other dogs. She walked well on leash and seemed tolerant of other dogs. She was a bit timid at first, but opened up and seems to have a gentle/dainty playstyle. She would make little play bows attempting to engage other dogs in play. Very cutesy
On 10/23/24 Pennie attended playgroup. She was friendly and social with dogs and people. She tolerated other dogs well and was often submissive in her interactions. Overall chill vibes from this girlie girl.

Pennie was taken outside today because I wanted to see how she would act out of the kennel. Pennie was very easy to leash and when I sat she walks AMAZING on leash, I mean every bit of it!
Excellent leash manners- no pulling, jumping, biting at the leash, etc.
Pennie is very friendly with people and loved interacting with the dogs being walked by the volunteers. Each dog she tried to get them to play or just sniffed them through the gate. She did back off immediately when one of the dogs showed he didn't like her sniffing at him.
Pennie greeted every human passing through as well.
She did a lot of sniffing around the yard, came and sat in front of me a few times, but didn't get too close. She is timid about being patted on the head, but will allow you to scratch her butt. I did get a small lick when I did that. We just stayed outside for awhile people and dog watching. At some point, Pennie drank water from the pool THEN actually got in the pool!! I tried to coax her out but she came out on her own time.
AND THE CUTEST thing about Pennie besides her personality is she has a half of tail. When she wags it, she has to throw her hips a bit to get it to wag. She is also has very soft fur, a bit timid if approached too fast but quickly warms up to everyone and other dogs.
May be housebroken because she peed and pooped, tried to take her own poop bag to the trash. Hahaha
