Sweet and gentle Helga came to us from a crowded Kentucky shelter, where she was brought after being confiscated from her home when her owner was reported for having too many animals. Helga was so shut down and shy, but with the help of her foster family she is slowly opening up. Helga will need an adopter who is as patient and as kind as her foster parents. Helga will need to live in a quieter area for now as she is spooked by lots of sights and sounds happening around her. A confident dog friend would be great, but not necessary, for Helga.
Helga is mostly housebroken and she is crated for 6-7 hours a day, and sometimes at night, and does well in there.
Her foster mom writes, "Helga is such a sweet, shy girl who needs someone that will show her love, be gentle, and will be patient with her until she gains comfort and trust in that individual. She has not one mean bone in her body. Once comfortable with an individual, she begins to show playfulness. She absolutely loves belly rubs and under-chin or even full body scratches and asks for more with her paws. She is very calm and is slowly coming out of her shell. Once she feels safe with an individual, she begins to show love back. Helga has so much potential in becoming someone's best friend once she gains their trust."
We hope you will consider adopting this special girl!
Helga's adoption fee is $250. This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
