For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Sunshine may be a little old man but he surely is as bright and sunny as his name! Sunshine was dumped outside when his owners moved out of their home. When the poor guy was brought in, he was so thin and dehydrated, and he needed some medical care. We found out that Sunshine is FIV positive but aside from that, everything else checks out with him just fine! He's probably around 13 or 14 and he's lived this long with FIV so really, it's not impacting him negatively. Sunshine is as sweet and lovable as they come. He may be a senior, but he still loves chasing a laser light and he's active, talkative, and full of personality. He gets along with other cats and he loves people of all ages. He's so affectionate and lovable, and he wants so much to spend the rest of his life a relaxing, loving home. Foster or adopt Sunshine! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. File#75912 9/20/24

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
