Rory is an exceptionally sweet and rambunctious 5-month-old kitten looking for his forever home!
This kitten is an absolute gem—he is curious, playful, cuddly and vocal; he really likes holding a conversation with his people. He has a unique tabby coat with both stripes and spots. He is so sweet and will steal your heart within moments of meeting him.
Rory LOVES his older foster brother and is constantly trying to tease him into wrestling and playing—although he is pretty respectful when his foster brother has had enough. He likes chasing toys and doing dramatic leaps in the air.
Like any kitten, Rory is high energy and should probably be in a home with another friendly cat to play with. If you have a solo cat who's bored and you are looking for a ""cat for your cat,"" Rory might be the perfect addition to your home!
He currently lives in a two-bedroom home with two people and one cat. He eats well and uses his litterbox like a champ, although he sometimes forgets to cover up his “gifts.”
Rory would do well in a home with enough stimulation to keep him entertained but so much so that he's overwhelmed. He is sometimes easily startled by loud noises and will run off and hide; he's getting used to a lot of new experiences but is very adaptable.
This little tabby boy, who was recently neutered on 10/5, loves everyone he meets and has warmed up remarkably quickly to his foster brother, our resident cat. Because of his young age and social demeanor, he will need to go home with another kitten, or to a home with another active young at to show him the ropes. I think Rory would also be fine in a home with kids and/or dogs if they are gentle and calm around him!

Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
