Meet Mehlani: The Sweet Norwegian Elkhound Mix!

Mehlani is a beautiful 10-month-old Norwegian Elkhound and Shepherd mix, radiating sweetness and joy. While she may initially come off as a bit timid, this gentle girl quickly warms up to new people and situations, revealing her loving nature. With patience and kindness, you’ll discover just how amazing Mehlani truly is.

This lovely pup has shown herself to be exceptionally gentle with the children she’s met, making her a great companion for families. As long as kids are willing to give her the time she needs to feel comfortable, she will thrive in a loving home.

Mehlani is an active girl who loves running and playing tag. A fenced-in yard where she can romp freely would be the perfect paradise for her! While she enjoys the company of other dogs, she does require proper introductions and tends to prefer playmates who aren’t overly hyperactive. With her instinct to chase, it’s best that she goes to a home without cats or rabbits, as she has a strong prey drive for small critters.

In addition to her playful spirit, Mehlani is a fantastic travel companion. She loves car rides and is well-behaved during walks, showcasing her adventurous side. She’s both house trained and crate trained, though she prefers not to be in the crate for long periods. So far, she’s shown no signs of destructive behavior.

Mehlani is a wonderful blend of playfulness and sweetness, and with a little time and understanding, she will make a loyal and loving addition to any family. If you’re looking for a sweet and spirited pup to join your home, Mehlani is ready to fill your life with happiness!

We help animals who are in need by placing them in a loving foster home, providing medical care, and finding the perfect home for that animal to live in for the rest of its life. Tails of Hope takes mainly dogs, but has occasionally helped other animals in need. We take animals in through shelters and other rescue organizations, as strays, or as owner surrenders from people in our local communities.
