Hi, I'm Nairn! I am a female DSH Tortie born around September 5, 2023, and while I may not be able to see (I lost my eyes due to a rough start with some nasty URIs), I'm learning every day how to get around and enjoy life. Don't let my blindness fool you--I'm a curious girl who can find my toys with ease and I love playing with them. My pink ping-pong ball is my favorite! Sometimes, I'll even entertain myself if you're busy! I'm still getting used to this new way of navigating the world, so I appreciate slow, gentle movements and a calm voice to help me know where you are. My other senses are heightened which is why I needs calm voices as I learn, and when too much is happening at once, it's sensory overload until I have learned and "see" how things work. I can get a bit nervous if I'm startled or overstimulated, so sometimes I might nibble on your fingers or swat if I'm feeling overwhelmed. But once I feel safe, I'm as sweet as they come. I'm looking for a quiet, patient home where I can be the only cat--no dogs, please! And because of my special needs, I'd do best with kids over 13 who can understand my condition and respect my boundaries. I'm also hoping to find someone with some experience with cats, especially those like me. I need a home where I can make a mental map of where everything is located. This means no moving of furniture or changes to my space. A home with no stairs would be ideal, but if you do have stairs, using a gate would help me stay safe. Oh, and I'm not a fan of being picked up just yet but I promise we can find other ways to bond with lots of pets and full body rubs. If you think you can give me the calm, loving home I'm looking for, I can't wait to meet you and start our new adventure together! Please apply online at www.wbcats.org/adopt.
