Meet Riya: A Resilient and Loving Belgian Malinois Mix Looking for Her Forever Home
Riya is a 6-month-old spayed female Belgian Malinois mix with a heart full of love and resilience. Her journey has been challenging, but this brave girl has shown incredible spirit and strength. Riya found herself in the shelter after being hit by a car, resulting in the amputation of her front right leg. Despite this, Riya has adapted beautifully and continues to show her sweet and loving nature.
After her surgery, Riya was briefly adopted but was returned to the shelter just a day later. When MAD Rescue heard her story and saw how terrified she was upon her return to the shelter, we knew we couldn’t leave her in that situation. We conducted a thorough evaluation, and it was clear that Riya deserved a second chance at a happy life. We’re thrilled to have her with us now and are committed to finding her the perfect forever home.

Adorable and Affectionate: Riya is the cutest little pup who has mastered the art of puppy dog eyes. She adores being petted and will happily climb into your lap for more cuddles.
People Lover: Riya is a social butterfly who loves being around people. She has no problem approaching strangers with her friendly and welcoming demeanor.
Smart and Obedient: This intelligent girl is already responding well to commands and comes running when her name is called.
Adaptable: Despite her amputation, Riya can ascend stairs with ease and is still working on mastering her descent. She’s determined and quick to learn.
Kennel Trained: Riya has no problem going to bed in her kennel on her own, making her a great companion for any household.

Our mailing address is in Michigan, however, each of our dogs are fostered in private homes across the US, with the location state of the dog included in the name of the pet or in the title description. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We only offer transport assistance for up to 350 miles. The applicant is responsible for the remainder of the distance of the transport.
