My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Akira! I am an amazing girl who loves to snuggle up on the couch and snore super loud all day. Some of my favorite things to do on walks are sniff, chase crows, and taste interesting sticks (whenever my foster parents aren't looking). I love treats and have been fast to learn new tricks! Right now I know how to sit and lay down, but am working on learning some new ones. I like playing with my toys and can entertain myself whenever I get bored, but sometimes I like to engage in a playful game of tug-of-war. I'm fully potty trained and will let you know when I have to go outside. I am also crate trained, but love to sleep in the bed with you if you allow me. My foster parents have left me in my crate for a few hours while out running errands or attending a Mariner's game, and I have done a great job (if you leave me some treats and a toy, I can entertain myself while you are gone)! My foster parents like to dress me up in little doggy clothes, and I don't mind it - it's just so annoying when my foster mom poses me for a million photos afterwards.

I do have some medical needs - I have seizures sometimes. Even though I have some medical needs, that does not stop me from living my best life and enjoying every second of it. I am so lucky that the vets at SAS have been working so hard to create the perfect mix of medicines for me so that I can be seizure-free and happy. I am very excited to meet my forever family and hope that they will be willing to take care of whatever medical needs I have. I promise to give you lots of love and snuggles if you decide to make me a part of your family.

Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.

** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. **
