This helps Circle 2 Rescue - Colorado Chapter with pet care costs.
Daisy is one of our all-time FAVORITE rescues! This sweetest dog has lived her entire life on the end of a chain in a dirt yard in Texas. No shade, no comforts, no kindness. And yet, Daisy has a demeanor that will absolutely captivate your heart. Daisy is appreciative of the most basic things in life. Having a soft bed, being fed every day, receiving a loving touch, being told she is a good girl are all pleasures that Daisy has never known and is overjoyed to experience. When we went to rescue her, Daisy hung her head and wagged her tail to signal that she was kind and gentle and still yearning for something better. The neighbor told us that her owner allowed her to have litter after litter of puppies and when she offered to get Daisy fixed he told her to mind her own #$#*& business. How she can remain so gentle and loving is a testament to her spirit.
If you are seeking a meek, kind-hearted, joyful dog, Daisy is your girl! At around 3 to 4 years old and 35 pounds, Daisy is not demanding and doesn't seem to have a manipulative bone in her body. She is quietly affectionate, loves being caressed, but is not a big snuggler. She fosters with another dog and they get along great. She mimics him as she learns what it means to be a dog. She would prefer having another dog companion, but would also thrive with an owner who made her the center of their universe. Daisy is exuberantly happy when it is time to eat and go for a walk. She likes to ride in the car. Her resilience touches our hearts. Best guess on her breed is some type of Hound mix, but she is mostly a true-blue, certified mutt.
Daisy was heart worm positive when we rescued her and has completed her treatment as prescribed by the American Heartworm Society protocol!! She just needs to be on monthly heartworm preventatives and have a checkup in 6 months.
If you would like to adopt, please complete an application at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee of $250 includes the spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and microchip.
