My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Imagine spending your entire life living on a chain, breeding, having puppies, watching them die becuase your owner doesn't care enough to help you care for them. Imagine never knowing a kind word or touch or gesture from your human. And finally he dies and someone comes to release you from your chain and feed you but they can't save you from this life you've known because the entire county is filled with dogs just like you. So you exist. You get pregnant again because that's the way of mother nature. Your about 5 years old now. And then one day, someone sees you. Actually SEES you and says you are worthy of a life and love and compassion and kindness and humane living conditions. They decide to rescue you. They approach you uncertain of your reaction. They are greeted with a head bowed in humilty and helplessness. My some miracle, your tail is wagging and you approach this kind human, by crawling on your belly to make sure she knows you are mean no harm. That you are scared but daring to hope; hope that they will be kind to you and offer to something to eat and some water to drink. You take her offerings and give her a lick to show your appreciation. And then she picks you up and put you in her car! Oddly, you are not nervous or afriad; you're relieved. It feels safe. And your new life begins when this amazing human takes you into her home and shows you love and kindness and you get to eat twice a day, every day. And you get to spend time on the green grass but you can come back inside any time you want. And so your new life begins. Meet Daisy, a 5 year oldish, 40 pound Hound maybe Shepherd maybe Beagle mix. If she could be any sweeter, we can't imagine it. Daisy is gentle and easy and content. She is elated just to be in your presence and doesn't require much else of her people. Her foster mom tells us Daisy wasn't a big fan of the leash (likely from spending her life on a chain) but has learned that it means she gets to go for a short stroll and then it gets removed again. She prefers a quiet setting and can become dismayed when the younger dogs bark and carry on while playing.  She likes to ride in the car with her foster mom and enjoys just being able to go with her. We are still learning about Daisy but we already know she is a kind soul who loves humans despite the miserable life her last person put her through. Her resiliance touches our hearts. If it touches yours and you would like to help Daisy by fostering or adopting, please complete an application  at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/  The adoption fee of $250 includes the spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and microchip.

Please note, Circle 2 Rescue cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have limited history prior to them entering the rescue.

More about this rescue

Circle 2 Animal Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill 501c3 rescue organization dedicated to rescuing homeless, abused and abandoned animals. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, and local veterinarians, we are able to rescue animals in need, providing them with loving care, and placing them in well-matched, carefully screened permanent homes. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs and horses where they are at risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation, left abused, alone and homeless. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered and receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment. We assist animals in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement.
