Dog Name: Circi
Breed: Mixed
Sex: F
Age: 1
Weight: 38lbs
Medical Needs: none
Housebroken: mostly, still has an accident on rare occasions
Crate trained: barks when hearing things going on in the house but will settle once in for a bit
Good in the car: will not get in independently but does okay once riding
Good on a leash: walks well on leash but can be a flight risk if she gets spooked by something loud or sudden movements
Energy level: medium to low; is content relaxing but will occasionally play with toys
Need a fenced in yard: no and would still require being on leash if you have one until she is more comfortable in your care
Dog Friendly: yes thrives with others dogs
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? YES. Circi needs a furry companion in her forever home. Without other dogs to interact with Circi shuts down and is extremely fearful of people. With another dog Circi knows she can relax and interact with people.
Cat Friendly? No cats in previous or current foster.
Kid Friendly: no children in current foster but assuming she would be best in a quiet household with no sudden movements. To improve her ability to adjust to a new household we recommend only older (highschool aged)or no children.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?
Circi came to us completely fearful of humans. She had not had much positive human interaction in her lifetime and had only been around other dogs continuously. At first she would cower in her kennel or hide behind the couch to the point where we had to introduce another pup to help her adjust during her shutdown period. With her foster sister around Circi has become more open and will interact with people. Just recently she started wagging her tail and interacting with her foster parents for pets on occasion. She has even started playing with toys. She is really sweet and will continue to improve with time. She is in need of someone willing to meet multiple times and have slow introductions to form a bond.
