My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE ON NULA!!!

A beacon of hope shines bright as GRRAND and animal advocates across the commonwealth collaborate to help rescue animals trapped in a devastating hoarding situation on a rural County Kentucky farm. Advocates eagerly await justice for the abused animals and the swift rescue of those still suffering in inhumane conditions. It's awful to think of the terrible lives and abuse they have been subjected to. A litter of 4 week old puppies were found on the property and all had to be treated at the Emergency Vet for Parvo to save their lives and sadly, one did not make it. We have extremely high vet expenses for these dogs and really need ongoing donations to pay for all their care and we are also in desperate need of foster homes for these dogs.

As we continue to assess the individual needs of these deserving animals, additional information to come, so please check back for more updates... This is Nula and she will need a home with an above ground securely fenced yard as she has ever been on leash and remains very fearful of people and is considered a flight risk at this time. She is believed to be Golden/Great Pyr/Lab mix, is new to her foster home and they have a WONDERFUL update...

"I’ve been fostering her for only 5 days and she’s already proving to be a diamond in the rough! While she was timid when she first arrived, she was cuddling with her new big brother by the end of the evening... AND, she has been fine with my indoor cats too. She is as sweet as can be and loves to play outside and go hiking. I’ve already done a couple 3+ mile hikes with her, with energy to spare. Although her silky blonde coat is sparse, it’s going to be so beautiful when it grows back. When she finds her forever home, she really would do best with a 4-legged buddy!"

More about this rescue

Early in 1994, members of the Greater Louisville Golden Retriever Club began to see the need for an organization to rehabilitate and find homes for displaced and abused Golden Retrievers. A number of folks in this club began organizing an ad hoc rescue group. As the number of rescues increased over a period of months, this “wet behind the ears” group came up with a name and in 1996, incorporated the organization now known as Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND). The rest, as they say, is history!
