What a sweet girl! Cerulean was found as a stray with her sister in Texas; we don't know her back story, but it seems like before she ended up at the shelter, she had never lived in a home. She is learning so much! She's giddy over food and toys, loves to prance around the house and yard looking for things to sniff, and has taken what I'm sure are her best naps ever.
Cerulean LOVES people. She loves to snuggle up and check in to see what you're up to. She's a great work-from-home buddy, choosing a comfy bed next to the desk. Not only is she well-behaved, but she's learning a routine and getting into a groove, which is helping her confidence a lot.
Whatever Cerulean endured on the streets of Texas, I don't think she had pleasant experiences with other stray dogs. Imagine being a tiny puppy surrounded by big, unrestrained (potentially dangerous) dogs! Naturally, she's built some defenses against other pups. She is scared and doesn't yet trust her dog foster siblings (it's only been a few days). She observes them closely and it seems like she is getting more comfortable in their presence, but she does growl if they catch her off guard. She's done best with a calm senior dog and has had the most issue with an energetic puppy her age. If there are other dogs in your home, you will need to commit to slow introductions to ensure it is a success!
As I write this, Cerulean is curled up in a ball next to me snoring so loud. It will take a bit of time for this shy and scared girl to come into her own, but she is learning quickly and doing so well. Potty training and crate training are quickly progressing, and she has so much love to give to a new family. Please consider giving this girl a soft place to land!
This pup was rescued from the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter in Texas.
Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events!
We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently.
