My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Milkshake is a super sweet little piggie of about 4 years old that would just love to be scooped up and taken away to a happy home! Milkshake had a home for all his life but sadly, someone in his home became allergic to him. Milkshake does his best to keep on scooting around, making new friends and checking out new toys and things. He's a very personable boy that has no shyness about him. He enjoys getting attention and being picked up and cuddled for a while. He's active and outgoing too! Milkshake lived with another guinea pig but they didn't get along well. Milkshake could live in a home with another piggie but he'll need his own safe place to retreat to at the end of the day. Come meet him! File#76137 9/27/24

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
