Breed: Chihuahua
Age: 6 yrs.
Weight: 10 lbs.
Good with dogs: yes
Good with cats: yes
Good with kids: unsure
Energy level: unsure
Good with men/strangers: very shy
Hypoallergenic: no
Special home requirements or medical: needs a secure and calm home
Additional info:
Sally is very sweet, gentle, and loves cuddles and giving little kisses. Currently she is living in a house with a larger dog, a very active puppy, and two cats and she takes it all in her stride! However, she does like her quiet time in her bed or on the sofa which makes us think that she would like a home without lots of animals, perhaps one other small dog, but where she will get proper daily walks. She loves to play in the garden with the puppy and adores to go on walks around a neighborhood. She is great on the leash and sits while her foster puts it on.
She is also happy to be walked in a group with other dogs. That said, her favorite thing is to curl up on a cizt lap while watching tv.
Sally has clearly experienced a great deal of hardship in her life but she is not aggressive and demonstrably likes humans. However, she is very independent and could run away if not kept in a secure space. She needs to be in a space where she can relax and know that the people are on her side and that she doesn't need to worry any more. She loves attention and cuddles and is very happy to be picked up. She understands basic commands - sit, stay, no, come - and is highly food motivated.
Sally will make a lovely family dog. She needs to be in an environment where she feels secure, has a regular routine, and clear boundaries and which offers a blend of adventure and cuddle time!
