My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chicken...the sweetest little scaredy-cat! True to her name, Chicken is fearful and tends to be shy at first. Her previous home had other pets, which were too overwhelming for Chicken.
Don't let her name fool you...once she feels safe, she'll come out of her cozy hiding spot for all the pets you can give. She also likes to play with gentle wand toys that bring out her playful side.
Chicken will require a quiet, peaceful home where she can be the only pet. A home that will provide her with the safe hiding places she needs to feel comfortable. If you're ready to show Chicken that she has nothing to be afraid of, please email Cathy at cathy.simonini@rispca.org or fill out an application. Chicken does requires 2 meet and greets before adoption.

Additional adoption info

Matchmaking is what we love to do. We do our very best to find the best fit for the pets awaiting adoption at the Rhode Island SPCA. The first step to adopting a dog from the Rhode Island SPCA is filling out an adoption application. If your application is selected, you will be contacted and asked if you would like to schedule a meet & greet. Because of the volume of applications we receive, sometimes we can only respond to the selected applicant. You are always welcome to contact us anytime about the status of your application at adoption@rispca.com.
