Meet Cassie....

Puppy mills rarely surrender their profit makers, but when they do, we jump at the chance to get them out of their....
We are so happy to get her away from that lifestyle. To think she spent years in a small cage, as a breeding machine. Cassie is a 5 year old female Shihtzu. She currently weighs 14 pounds. She is so
adorable, so sweet, so gentle. Cassie is definitely on the shy side when ig comes to people. We can only assume she has not had the best interactions with people from the mill she came from. Cassie has no
fear with other dogs, she is nervous around people not never showing aggression towards us, she just runs away. We see that all too often with the adults, they need time and patience with a family. Once they feel confident, their personalities come out and families always send me updates saying the dog is completely out of their shell and different from when first adopted. We can't wait to get those updates from the family who adopts this girl.
She will be spayed next week and will receive any additional vetting our vet feels she needs. Cassie will be groomed in a few days, she is definitely matted, but we want her to decompress before putting her thru more stress. It breaks your heart with some of these pups that enter our rescue. Our team will be so
happy when applications come in for her and she is placed in her forever home. Cassie is considered hypoallergenic, and she won't gain much more weight.
She is using a wee wee pad for potty training. We will start taking her outside once she gets comfortable in her foster home
