Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
From her foster: This is Mocha! She came to the rescue pregnant, and raised a sweet litter of puppies. She is a good mom, but is looking forward to a place to call her own and some chill time cuddling on the couch without having to break up the puppy wrestling.
Mocha loves snuggling with her person and crawling under blankets. She would be happiest being a lap dog with a few short walks to go potty. She might enjoy a yard, but definitely doesn't need one. She prefers to potty on walks if it's up to her! Potty training should be pretty easy, as she was doing great before her puppies came along. While caring for her puppies Mocha eats and drinks a lot and sometimes it's harder to hold it overnight. However, once she's able to get into a new child free routine, with the attention focused on her, I think she will go back to her former skills :)
Mocha is a southern gal who isn't interested in MN weather. She would prefer to lounge by a fire or under a blanket this winter and keep her time outside to a minimum. She shivers when it's below 45. (She's going to appreciate a sweater I think.)
Mocha is friendly with the dogs she's met here, but so far a little too submissive to play much. She has been great with all the dogs she's met at my house, but on walks she barks at dogs she sees within a block. Her leash reactivity is definitely something that can improve with some training if you will be walking in busy places and it bothers you!
She is a bit timid but has lived with dog-savvy kids. It took her some time to trust them. But she eventually did and enjoyed sitting by them for pets. She'd probably be happiest in a quieter home though, with adults or older kids (think like teens).
I am happy to answer questions about Mocha and see if we can find her the perfect match for her new beginning! Please fill out an application to meet her or learn more!

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
