Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
From his foster: He loves taking naps, going for car rides, walks, or just hanging out with his humans. He is doing very well with potty training and crate training.
From the Vet:
Hi! I''m Ozzy and I'm looking for a special forever family! When I came into rescue my siblings and I were set to be spayed and neutered, but it was discovered that I had a fairly serious heart murmur. After an echocardiogram with my friends at the University of Minnesota Cardiology it was determined that the cause of my murmur was 2 heart defects. PDA (Patent ductus arteriosus - a defect that causes the ductus arteriosus to not close properly at birth) and pulmonic stenosis (a narrowing of the pulmonic valve). I was promptly scheduled for a heart surgery to repair these 2 defects. During surgery a device was placed in my artery to close the whole caused by the PDA defect. While attempting to place the balloon in my pulmonary valve I had some complications that halted surgery so my cardiology team could save my life!! I am so thankful they did. The team at the U of M has decided that it will be best to recheck my heart in 3 months and decide if that time if the balloon will still be needed. I hope that my future family can help me continue on my road to recovery, but for now I am a happy puppy with a much better prognosis than I had a few weeks ago! While I am still a puppy my family will want to keep a close eye on my and give me lots of breaks if my ever becomes too rapid or labored. Should I ever experience irregular respiration, extreme lethargy or fluid buildup in my abdomen this may require urgent or emergency care. TBB will agree to cover my recheck echo in 3 months along with the balloon valvuloplasty surgery (plus any medications provided along with surgery) if recommended at that 3 month recheck scheduled in Feb 2025. Because of these heart conditions they also advised that any elective surgeries such as a neuter be delayed until after that recheck. TBB will agree to cover my neuter procedure if completed at TBB or an approved veterinary partner. I hope to meet you and fall in love soon!

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
