Meet Iris. She was rescued from our local shelter with 5 beautiful 3 day old kittens. Despite being a new mom and being in a strange place, she is a very friendly girl. She gives abundant head bonks and body bumps, and loves attention. She has been an amazing mom, and her babies all have homes after they've been spayed and neutered, so it is now her time to garner the attention she deserves. We do not know much about her previous life. A family dropped her off at the shelter immediately after giving birth to her babies. We don't know if she was a community cat, or if the family just couldn't afford to do what was necessary from a medical standpoint. But she was clean and friendly, so we are assuming she was a family pet. We don't know if she has experience with dogs or other cats in the home, and she's been protected in her foster home due to raising her babies. We hope to know more once she isn't protecting her kittens. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask! And if you live within 6 hours of southern California, she is available for preadoption!
