My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Marie is a 1-year-old, pocket pittie, weighing only 35 lbs. Her story is quite unique. Marie was a stray. She was hungry, afraid, and seeking refuge. So, what’s a girl to do? Marie TOOK HERSELF TO THE SHELTER. That’s right! Shelter staff saw her outside the gate asking for help. They quickly retrieved her, as she was more than willing, and she absolutely lit up when she walked by the other dogs in the pens. Well, being a homeless pittie in Texas doesn’t usually mean your future is bright, if you know what I mean. After a short time, Marie found herself on the euthanasia list due to lack of space. There are worse things than death and it seemed even sweet Marie knew this. At least for a short time she was warm and dry, fed, and had cover. Well, we just couldn’t stand the idea of a dog that took itself to the shelter subsequently dying at the shelter and luckily, one of our foster homes agreed! So, Marie came to Colorado. And let me tell you, what a good save she has been! Marie LOVES dogs. It is important that her new home have at least one other canine companion for her. She’s quiet, playful, a tad skeptical of new things, crate trained, and uses a doggie door in her foster home. Her foster mom says she’s an adorable brickhouse of loveliness. She will do well in a variety of homes!

Marie is being fostered in Bennett, Colorado.
