Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Milagra is a sweet little mama that desperately needs a fresh start in life. She's about 4 years old and she was found in the basement of a home along with her little kittens. Milagra was taken to our Newark shelter and later came to us and we're so happy to have her. She's a shy, reserved girl but she'll come around....we're sure of it. Milagra may get wide-eyed when she first meets you but she never runs from you and she relaxes and enjoys getting attention. She'll need a more commotion-free home where she can take her time to settle in and once she does, she's going to be your best buddy. Milagra seems just fine with other mild-mannered cats too. She hopes you'll give her a chance at the good life she deserves! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. File#74976 8/14/24

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
