MOO MOO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Moo Moo Best Guess for Breed: Pit bull terrier mix
Best Guess for Age: 6 years as of October 2024 Gender:Female
Approximate Weight: 40 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids but we can test her if you have them! Moo Moo should not go to a home with cats.
Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to come up after completing heartworm treatment!
Check out this video of Moo Moo: https://youtu.be/LgmRn5eL7Pw.
Special Adoption Considerations: Moo Moo is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.
We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!
Moo Moo is Looking For: Her forever home! Through no fault of her own, this sweetie landed in the shelter. She's eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed too, please! And maybe try out various toys to see what she likes. But bottom line - she's out of the puppy yips and knows what's most important in life - being safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days.
Oh, and one more thing she's mentioned - a name change wouldn't be totally wrong.
What My Foster Says About Me:We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
