My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Silas O'Donnell, the 70-pound heartthrob with a stunning blue-gray coat, a hint of white, and a whole lot of love to give! We think he’s a Pit Bull/Blue Lacy mix, but whatever the breed, Silas is 100% handsome with a personality to match.

At around 4 years old, Silas is showing off his gentlemanly side—he’s never had an accident inside his foster home and hasn’t even tried to mark his territory. His foster mom says he’s a gentle, affectionate guy who greets every day with gratitude and kisses. His signature move? Mid-walk somersaults in the grass, followed by a proud sploot, as if he’s marveling at how wonderful life has become. This boy knows he’s found his second chance, and he’s soaking it in.

Silas is crate-trained and incredibly patient, walking in with no fuss and greeting his foster family with four BIIIIG stretches before he's ready to shower them with affection. He’s a low-energy guy who loves his naps but is always up for a gentle adventure. In the car, he’s a calm co-pilot, happy to join you wherever you go!

Recently, Silas had the chance to spend time with young kids, and he absolutely had a blast! He was polite, gentle, and thrilled to run and play with them—earning some serious "good boy" points. When it comes to other pups, Silas is a bit of a social butterfly! He’s figuring out the whole "play" thing, but he’s already best buds with his Doberman foster brother. A moderately playful dog in his forever home could be the perfect companion to help him blossom. Cats, however, might be too tempting—our resident feline didn’t get Silas’ stamp of approval.

And while Silas is still getting the hang of toys, we just know he’d love a basket of chew toys all to himself in his new home. Imagine his delight with a bunch of fun, squeaky chew toys to help him discover the joy of playtime!

Silas is already working with his foster mom on commands like sit and come, and he’s nailed down “sit” like a pro! Silas takes correction very well and is eager to learn—he’s going to be a fast study for any family ready to continue his training.

If you’re looking for a grateful, cuddly, and smart buddy who’s all about the journey, Silas O'Donnell might just be the one. Apply to adopt him today—he's waiting to bring somersaults, sploots, and snuggles into your life! 🐾

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2-acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs, and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non- profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
