My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the one and only Chad! This handsome fella is a 4-year-old Lab/Hound mix and let me tell you, he's got the looks and the talent to steal your heart in seconds.

But don't let his charming appearance fool you, Chad hasn't had an easy life. He was found as a stray, covered in fleas and looking for a forever home to call his own. And boy does he deserve it!

Now, let's talk about Chad's special talents. This pooch loves to sing! We're not talking about a howling wolf, but more like a soulful serenade that will make your heart melt. Trust us, you've never heard anything like it before.

Chad's ideal home would be with a patient and loving family who doesn't mind his busy and energetic personality. This boy loves to play and stay active, so he'll keep you on your toes.

Chad has done well with the dogs he has met at the shelter but as with any adoption a Meet and Greet is required for any dog friends he will be sharing a home with!

Chad is neutered, we have microchipped and updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention, heartworm tested (NEGATIVE) and given heartworm prevention.

More about this shelter

The Orange County Animal Shelter is responsible for providing humane care to unwanted, lost or abandoned animals
The Orange County Animal Shelter provides safe haven and vet care for hundreds of animals of all ages and descriptions each year.
Happily, we have had great success promoting our animals on Petfinder, Petsmart adoption events and now with the help of Adopt-A-Pet. Dozens of animals have been adopted by people who have come from many other states. Would you like to join them? If so, please let us know! The greater our reach the more homes we will find for the animals in our care.
Although we are about 1.5 hours away from the Washington, D.C. metro area, it is an easy drive. You can even make a day of it and stop off at country stores, Civil War battlefield sites and a huge mall complex in Spotsylvania/Fredericksburg. And after all, what is a few hours in drive time when you will be meeting your new best friend? If you need help getting here, call us for directions
