My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Moose (A132848) is a 1-year-and-7-month-old Maremma Sheepdog who weighed 77.6 pounds on intake!

10/07/24 This happy smiley boy is Moose! Moose was surrendered to the shelter because he was a bit too much for the small child in the home. He does not always understand his size and has a history of bumping into kiddos. He was said to do well with adults and would most likely love a home with older children. Moose is super excited for wintertime and was said to love being outdoors. He was also said to love to play with other dogs but has no history with cats, pocket pets, or livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with potential new friends. Moose was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and to ride well in a car. He also knows the command and paw (but does not always listen). Moose does still like to jump on people and was known to counter surf on occasion. He would benefit from working with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners. He is a young sweet dog looking for the perfect home to keep him happy and healthy! If you are interested in meeting Moose, please let us know!

11/07/23 This big, handsome pup is Moose! Moose is Maremma Sheepdog, which is a livestock guardian breed; if you are unfamiliar with his breed, we highly encourage you to research prior to adoption. Moose is a very sweet boy and was described as affectionate and shy but friendly. Moose was said to do very well with children. He can be shy with new people initially but warms up quickly. Moose was said to be very dog friendly but has no known history with cats, pocket pets, or livestock. Please ensure you do slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new animals. Moose was said to be mostly housebroken and would sit by the door when he needed to go outside. Moose was said to know how to sit but only when properly motivated with a treat! Moose was said to be kenneled at night and when his prior owners were not home. He was allowed to free roam when there were people around. Moose was known to be a digger/chewer, and to get into the trash. If you are interested in meeting Moose, please let us know!October 18, 2024, 1:02 am
