My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everyone, my name is Derby. I am right around 6 months old only. Me and my brother were abandoned outside the shelter one night, I know how sad right. But perhaps it was a blessing in disguise because we are now going to be able to come to WI and hopefully find our own forever homes now. The other sad part is this shelter is literally closing the doors at the end of this month, so we have one chance for one more transport before this happens. I am praying and dreaming I can find someone who wants to adopt me and give me a chance at real happiness and forever love. I am a typical youngster who likes to play and have fun, toys are a fun thing to throw in the air and catch with. I do great with other dog friends and even met this odd thing called a kitty, yes he sort of scared me but I think I could live with a friendly one. I adore everyone I meet form kiddos to big people, everyone is a potential best friend and who knows they may have some yummy treats :) Well here is my story I hope someone sees me and says yes he is the one and we can ride off into the sunset together. An online application can be found at SandiPaws.org for me, and I will be in WI on 10-20 to start a forever life with people to love.

Additional adoption info

See our adoption process at www.sandipaws.org/adoption

A successful adoption depends on the selection of the right pet for your household and your understanding of your responsibility of adopting a rescued animal. Our adoption procedures have been designed to make sure all rescued Sandi Paws pets are placed in an appropriate, loving forever home, and to make sure all adopters find the right fit for their family. Prior to adoption, all dogs and cats will be given all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies, kennel cough, parvo and distemper, spaying/neutering, intestinal deworming, heartworm testing/treatment, microchipping, and monthly heartworm medication and flea prevention.

Note: We will adopt pets outside of Wisconsin if we can do necessary background and reference checks and the adopters agree to provide necessary follow up information. Also, the adopting family must agree to travel to pick up the pet and agree to transport them back to Wisconsin if they need to be returned at any time.
