My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bingo, a 10-month-old corgi/cattle dog mix looking for love and a big yard!

Background: Bingo was taken in as a stray by a kind family who cannot keep him long-term. He has been living with cats, dogs, and children for the past several months.

Personality: Bingo is a total goober. He is a friendly and high-energy boy who loves to run and play. He loves to be near his people.

Health: He is up to date on all vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.

Training: Bingo is house-trained, crate-trained, and uses a dog door. He knows basic commands, such as “sit”, “lay down”, “shake”, “here”, and “leave it”. Bingo is still working on his leash manners—he is surprisingly strong for a medium lad. He also needs to work on resource guarding toys. Bingo is still a puppy and would benefit from continued obedience training.

Ideal Home: Bingo would love an active family who will take him hiking or running. Bingo has been living with cats but sometimes chases them, so a cat-free home may be better. He gets along with other dogs and enjoys trips to the dog park but sometimes gets jealous over toys and human attention, so he’d likely do just fine as an only pet.

Adoption Requirements: Bingo’s adoption fee is $350. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think he could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application

*Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a lifetime commitment. After an application and a verbal interview is completed and it is determined that the adoption is a compatible match, a contract is signed with specific guidelines. An adoption fee (usually between $250-$500) to help off-set medical, feeding and Rescue costs is collected. The contract states that at any time the adoption does not work out, the dog is to be returned to our Rescue group for alternate placement. The dog is not to be 'given away' or 'rehomed' or 'taken to the pound'. If there are other dogs in the home, they must meet prior to adoption. All family members in the household have to agree to the adoption. No dog is to be adopted as a 'gift'. No out of state adoptions.
