My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JD is such a goofy guy. He enjoys squeaky toys and likes to mimic the sound it makes by whimpering at the same time. JD loves to run outside and throw himself on the ground and roll a couple times before stretching out in the grass to bask in the sun. He is great with other dogs but prefers them to be playful. JD enjoys belly rubs and lots of attention but isn't so demanding that he can't also enjoy playing alone in his kennel. JD is a great family dog.

1.
Submit Application

Visit www.ASVTexas.org and select “Adoption Application”.

2.
Approve Application

ASVT checks veterinarian references and confirms rental agreements and deposits.

3.
Meet the Pet

The foster family will be in contact to arrange a meet and greet.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

5.
Pay Fee

$250.00-$400.00 for dogs, $75.00-$125.00 for cats. ASVT accepts cash, check or credit cards through our PayPal account.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We are all volunteers and have busy lives. Please allow 2-3 business days for a reply to your inquiry. FAILURE TO FILL OUT THE APPLICATION COMPLETELY AND ACCURATELY WILL DELAY PROCESSING.

The adoption is NOT FINAL until the animal is spayed/neutered. A refundable deposit of $100.00 for dogs ($50 for cats) will be collected at time of adoption and returned when the pet has been spayed or neutered.

The adoption fee covers the spay/neuter surgery, core vaccinations, including rabies, and a microchip.

Go meet their pets

All of our animals are in foster homes. Please complete an adoption application, which can be found at www.ASVTexas.org. The application will be reviewed and if approved, we will forward it to the foster family and ask them to contact you to set up a meet and greet.

Our animals do attend adoption events on weekends. Please check our Facebook page, Official Animal Shelter Volunteers of Texas, for locations and times.

ASVT is made up entirely of volunteers who love animals and advocate for healthy animals and adoption.

We transport dogs to shelters and rescues with high rates of adoption shelters for adoption.

We facilitate local adoptions by taking pets to local businesses and events for adoption fairs.

We provide medical care for ill/injured animals.

ASVT gladly accepts donations for our transport program, animal supplies (beds, cages, fencing, etc.) and for medical care. Thank you!
