My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Meet Peppermint Patty!**

Introducing this sweet Blue Tick Coonhound! While she was originally thought to be skittish, her current foster has found her to be friendly and not scared of adults at all! She's a cuddled that has now mastered the commands "sit and "down. She's learning to pose for pictures too!

Patty appears to be house-trained and sleeps well in her crate. She's curious and loves to investigate new creatures-she's shown interest in cats in a catio but doesn't bark or paw at them. In fact, she completely ignored the cat in her foster home!

Food-motivated and playful, Patty enjoys chew toys flavored like yak and filled bones. She's friendly with her dog friends but hasn't engaged in play just yet. However, she does love to chase and bark at squirrels!

Patty is ready to find her forever home where she can continue to blossom. Stay tuned for more updates on this lovely girl!

More about this rescue

Hound Rescue is always in need of foster homes. We do not have a shelter so our ability to rescue is limited only by the number of families willing to take in a beagle in need. If interested go to http://houndrescue.com and click on "How to Foster."

Hound Rescue started in Austin, Texas in 1998. We are a small group of individuals who foster dogs in our homes. Hound Rescue also provides placement assistance to both shelters and others who need to find homes for hounds who for whatever reason have become stray.

Most of our animals come from high-kill facilities where they were scheduled to be euthanized. Because of the huge numbers of unwanted dogs, Hound Rescue Texas can only take owner surrenders on a limited basis as space permits in our foster home network.
