Kaylee is a 5-month-old playful pup, and we believe she may be a Corgi/Shepherd mix, though that's just our best guess. She currently weighs 12 pounds, and her foster mom estimates she may reach 25 to 30 pounds when fully grown. Kaylee is full of energy and loves making new friends, both human and canine! This sweet girl enjoys a good game of fetch and will even bring the ball back-well, most of the time!

Kaylee is a quick learner when it comes to potty training, and she's already mastering it. She sleeps quietly through the night in her pen with no accidents. She has interacted with dogs of all sizes and does well with both. Her soft, fluffy fur makes her even more irresistible. If you're looking for an affectionate and playful companion, Kaylee might just be your perfect match!

Adopt-A-Pet Events in the Kansas City Area

Cat adoptions are held at the PetSmart at 115th and Metcalf in Overland Park KS every Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00. Cats available for adoption every day at PetSmart in-store cage area.

Dog adoptions are held at the PetSmart in Olathe KS at 119th and Strang Line, every Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00.

Dog adoptions are held at the PetSmart in Lee's Summit MO at 920 NE Sam Walton Lane, also every Saturday from 12:00 and 3:00.

The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.

Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Background
Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs).
