Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Who is ready for some serious snuggle time? Hello world!! I’m Sassafras! My foster parents say I have the sweetest disposition and I’m the cuddliest girl ever! I think I must have been a marsupial in my past life! I must agree, as I love NOTHING more than curling up on your lap for a long nap, soft pets or
watching a cat video on your phone. I recently enjoyed watching a college football game with my foster family as well! Wherever you are is where I want to be! I will let you know how much I love you too by my loud purrs! My foster parents find my auburn raccoon rings on my tail irresistibly adorable!
Although I am a youngster, I do prefer my hooman cuddle time over participating in the rowdy shenanigans orchestrated by my foster siblings! I get along great with my foster siblings! I also enjoy playing with my roller track toy, catnip mice, cardboard scratchers & running through tunnels! I have lived in a rather quiet home with my foster parents. I have not been around young children or dogs. I would likely be just fine with older children or teenagers who would handle and play with me gently; especially while I am getting used to my new digs and hoomans! Like most cats, I do get scared with sudden loud noises, so a quieter home would probably suit me best! The vacuum and I will not ever be besties! If you think I may be your new snuggle bug or couch tater please contact my peeps and come meet me!!
Please see our rescue information for our adoption fees or email us at billythekiddenrescue@gmail.com.
‼️Help control the pet population - have your pets spayed or neutered! 💯

We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed.
We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.
We require a donation of $120 for adoption of unaltered kittens with a PTV Contract. All kittens receive vaccine series and wormings as well as medical treatment as needed. The adopter is responsible for obtaining their rabies vaccine and spay/neuter if the kitten is not of age at the time of adoption. We can provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services.
We ask a donation of $25 to adopt Career/barn cats.
We require a donation of at least $140 for adoption of Spayed/neutered cat.
Bonded pairs adoption donation is $200.
Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family!

More about this rescue
Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce feral cat population in Hampton Roads by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens for adoption into loving forever homes. We are a VDACS registered 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2014 with over 60 foster homes.
Our heart is in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return of ferals), where cats are fixed, vaccinated, ear tipped, and allowed to live out their lives without reproducing. We are advocates for advancing legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads. Our unique feral kitten socialization program has a 90% success rate in socializing feral-born kittens to become loving, in-home pets.
We are always seeking fosters, volunteers, transporters, and trappers to join our team!
We also appreciate donations! Find our most needed items
