Oh, hello there! My name is Torch and it’s very nice to meet you.
So, you’re looking to adopt a kitten? Oh wow, that’s so nice of you! Maybe you could pick me? If that’s okay with you, of course.
My foster parents say I am the perfect little gentleman, and that I am so very gentle and laid-back. Most of my siblings are kind of chaotic, but I am happier to sit snuggled up, held in my foster parents’ arms, or draped around someone’s neck like their own personal scarf!
That’s not to say that I’m not playful, I definitely am! I love a good rough-house with my siblings, but they are just a little tiring for me sometimes. The only exception to this rule is… WAND. TOYS. I go CRAZY for them. They are my favorite things ever, and I will fight anyone for them! My foster mom says I can be kind of a butthead with them, but they are just SO. MUCH. FUN.
I also adore my food and treats, and I’m the best little eater. You won’t find me turning my nose up at anything like some of my siblings do. I’m just so happy to have food and not be outside all dirty and hot anymore!
I really am just a happy little guy, and would make the perfect addition to any home! I’m not a huge fan of loud noises or vacuums, and I do startle a bit easily, but what can I say? I’m a cat!
It would be nice if I could go home with one of my siblings, but I would be okay with another playful kitty in the house.
Torch is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
