Meet Pesto!

This big boy arrived at HSoP in search of a new home after his loving owner passed away. He's around 11 years old and weighs in at 21 pounds. As cute as he is right now, Pesto would definitely be healthier if he lost some weight. He's currently on a new weight loss diet to help him move in the right direction. He will need to continue this diet in his new home.

Pesto previously shared a home with a younger male cat named Moo Deng. They seemed to get along well enough, but were not incredibly attached to one another. He may do well in a home with other cats, so long as he doesn't have access to their food! We unfortunately don't know how he would do in a home with dogs. We do offer a seven-day foster period with each adoption which can help to ensure a good fit for the whole family.

When it comes to his personality, Pesto has a pretty shy exterior. He tends to hunker down in the back corner of his kennel until someone approaches, and then he'll let you give him a few head scratches. When he's out of the kennel and has room to explore, Pesto becomes quite curious! He still runs and jumps - more than we expected - and though he isn't interested in toys, he LOVES CATNIP! He's a generally friendly boy despite being apprehensive at first, and would appreciate a home where he can strut around and explore.

Pesto is ready to make some friends and find his perfect forever home! If you think this chonkster could be the cat for you, please stop by HSoP and get to know him between 1-6pm Monday through Saturday (NOTE: dog kennels close at 5:00pm each day). Since Pesto is over the age of 6, his adoption fee is just $50.
