My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ramona is one of those great pups (5 months) who is just so very curious and interested in what people are doing! Seriously, she always has an adorable and quizzical expression, and she's always ready for a walk, some play time, or some snacks. (Hey, aren't we all?) We believe this tri-colored girl is some sort of mix of Border Collie and Cattle Dog. She came to The Cat House on the Kings after being thrown from a moving car and getting an injured paw in the process. (She's all better now, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated, too!) She weighs about 20ish pounds (we hate to ask a woman her exact weight, after all) and we anticipate she will be a medium-sized girl when fully grown. Like all teenagery-puppies, she would benefit from some training, plenty of space, and lots of toys+playtime.

All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and ear mites, tested for FELV/FIV and microchipped. You must fill out an adoption application and talk directly with one of our adoption coordinators. An adoption contract must be signed at time of adoption.

You may visit The Cat House daily, except major holidays, 1-4 pm, by appointment only. We also have an off-site adoption center located inside Petco at 4144 N. Blackstone at Ashlan in Fresno, which is open open daily 10am-5pm and Wednesday 10am-6pm.

The Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center located on 12 acres along the Kings River in Parlier, California, which is in the central San Joaquin Valley, southeast of Fresno.

At The Cat House, our mission is to:
1) provide a no-cage, no-kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats and kittens for the State of California, primarily serving the Central Valley;
2) facilitate the adoption of cats (primarily), dogs and other rescued animals into safe, loving, healthy and permanent homes;
3) educate the public on how to become directly involved in improving the quality of animal welfare;
4) offer low cost spay and neuter referrals.
