Honey is an appropriate name for this sweet dog because she is as sweet as honey and is honey colored! Honey is a 3 year old 40 pound mixed breed. Honey has a sad story that tugged at the shelter's heart and probably will yours. She went to a local Animal Shelter on 3/3 as a stray and was adopted two weeks later. She was returned a few days later because their dog did not like Honey (obviously, they didn’t do a slow introduction). She remained at the shelter until for 4 months, when she was adopted again. She was so excited to be getting a family, but someone in the family was allergic to her. So again, she was returned through no fault of her own. In spite of the fact that she was a long-time resident, she maintained a remarkably positive attitude. She wiggles all over when she sees you. She’s a happy girl. She’s also very curious and alert exploring her surroundings. She’s playful and will entertain herself with a ball. She sits for treats and takes them gently. She’s well mannered in that she doesn’t jump on you. She enjoyed having her ears scratched. She is housebroken. The dogs she met at the shelter were fine meetings but she would love to be the only dog and get all the attention. We think she’s a real sweetheart. She wants to spend family time with your family. She does well with young children. She would love to be a running dog we think. She is energetic and happy.
