My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What Makes Me So Special

Updated Nov. 17, 2024

Bucky Brewster is a five-year-old neutered male Boston Terrier who is looking for an adult only home with someone (people) who can be patient in helping Bucky get acclimated to his new surroundings. While we do not know Bucky’s full story, we know he is very sweet and loving with his person and he needs a calm home with only an occasional visitor. Bucky will likely do best with another dog(s) similar in size OR as the only pet in the house. He LOVES sunshine, playing with toys that stimulate his brain, spending time with his person, and everything in the outside world! Due to his choosy nature, his future adopter needs to be in the Atlanta area and willing to do a meet and greet before being cleared to adopt.

Likes/Dislikes

Other Animals: he plays well with another Boston Terrier, but avoids a much larger dog in his foster home

People/Kids: needs an active adult only home; he attaches well to one person initially and can warm up to others over time

Car Rides: does well but has a strong aversion to being left alone in the car, even for a few seconds

Separation: does well, especially if he has a toy to keep him occupied

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
