My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

Puppy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.

A volunteer writes: Puppy is named for a baby dog, but she plays like the ultimate cat. I held a pipe cleaner feather and she acted like she could hardly summon the energy and time for my silly little game, except Puppy actually really cares a lot. Each time I put her pipe cleaner feather down, because I thought she didn't really want to play, she looked at me with sad surprise. When she's not playing, I usually see Puppy curled up in a little circle at the front of her condo. Right next to the condo door, she wants people to notice her but she doesn't always know what to do or what to do next. She's not entirely sure what to make of the Care Center, but she knows she wants a second chance. We don't know so much about Puppy's history prior to the shelter, but we know that she prefers to do things on her own terms. She loves pets and isn't one to turn down a treat. When I offered Puppy some neck scritches, she happily sat up and leaned her little kitty neck into my hand. We're really hoping you'll come and see the wonderful little kitty inside Puppy.
