My name is HOPE!

Howdy! I’m Hope, a beautiful 1-year-old, 40-pound black Lab mix with one ear that just loves to flip the wrong way—it’s kind of my signature look! I had a lot of things stacked against me - I was a black dog living in a Texas shelter and I had Parvo - both of which can be a death sentence for a lot of dogs - but I was so lucky to have been Rescued by Project Hope! I don’t even have any lasting side effects of the Parvo - how lucky am I?!

At my first foster home in Texas, I discovered two things I absolutely love: water and playing fetch with my doggy friends. Now that I’m in Monroe, Michigan, I’m living with a couple of tiny humans (toddlers), a kid and my foster sister dog, and I adore them all! I play hard, but I cuddle even harder. My favorite toys are balls and my stuffed dragon, Pete. I’m also a big fan of snuggling on the couch after a fun day of fetch.

I’m housebroken, love riding in a car and I’m working on crate-training (I’m not a big fan). I know a lot of basic commands, though I’m still learning how to walk nicely on a leash. I’m a quick learner, so I’ll get it soon with a little more practice! I’d do best in a home with another dog to play with, an active family to keep me engaged and a FENCED-IN YARD where I can run and play fetch to my heart’s content.
